Dhul Hijjah has commenced, alhamdulillaah :)

It has been officially announced by the Saudi Press Agency that the crescent for the new month has been sighted.

Confirmed reports say that UAE also announces the same. So accordingly:

1st of ذو الحجة Dhul Hijjah 1435 will correspond to 25th September 2014. 

The Day of Arafah which falls on 9th ذو الحجة Dhul Hijjah 1435 will correspond to 3rd October 2014. 

Eid al-Adha is on 10th ذو الحجة Dhul Hijjah 1435, and will correspond to 4th October 2014.

The Best Days of the Year have arrived.  All Praise, Glory and Gratitude belongs to Allah who has kept us alive to reap the blessings of Dhul Hijjah, one the four sacred months in Islam, after He gave us the opportunity to perform our best possible ibadah in the glorious month of Ramadhaan. Excellence of the Day of Arafah

The ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah is the Day of ’Arafah, since it is on this Day the pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of ’Arafah, praying and supplicating to their Lord. In fact, one hadeeth says that ‘Hajj is Arafah’. This means Arafah is the sum and substance of Hajj.

The Blessed Days: Day of Nahr and the Days of Tashreeq

The Day of Nahr is the Day of Sacrifice which is the 10th day of Dhul-Hijjah.

There are multiple virtues for this Day for it is the Day of the Major Hajj and the best day of the year.

In a Hadeeth (narration), the Prophet (sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) said:

“The greatest day in the sight of Allaah, the Almighty, is the Day of Nahr and then the day of Qarr (the 11th day of Dhul-Hijjah)”.
