Ibn Mas’ud (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:“He who guides (others) to an act of goodness, will have a reward similar to that of its doer.” Sahih Muslim

Blessed Days, Blessed Souls

🙂 Alhamdulillaah, the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah has commenced 🙂

As per the official announcement in Saudi Arabia, UAE and adjoining places, today (12th Aug) is the First Day of Dhul Hijjah 1439. Accordingly, the Day of Arafah will fall on Monday, the 20th August, and Tuesday, 21st August, will be the first day of Eid al Adhaa. (Please check out for the local announcement done in your respective place as one has to go by the fatwa of one’s region)

Although there are mind-blowing resources already posted on this page, I wish to add the Dhul Hijjah Planner with just a few other related posts, by way of reminder and for the benefit of one and all, InShaaAllah. The focus, for me and you, should be on individual performance: to change the inner self. 

May Allah give us the Tawfeeque and Hidayah to live by the teachings of Qur’an and Hadeeth to the best of our ability. 

4 Promises of Allah, and our Response

Allah’s Promises are Unbreakable indeed. The conditional promises make us think/recall the ‘Cause and Effect’ way of functioning in the world.

Actually, in this there is a beautiful message indeed:
These Unbreakable Promises of Allah will come into effect only when the Believer takes the First Step.

‘If You Remember Me, I’ll Remember You’.

‘If You’re Grateful unto Me, I’ll Give You More’.

‘If You call upon Me, I’ll Respond to You’.

‘I’ll Not Punish You, If You have the habit of sincerely seeking forgiveness from Me’.

Also, the Qur’anic beauty of Communication Skill is very well noticed here. And this too is a source of inspiration for us.

* Placing Second Person first, followed by the First Person draws the attention of the reader/listener.

* Putting conditional clause in order to get things done is a persuasive and powerful way of effectively communicating things.

* Promising Rewards by way of Assertive Communication is another way.

* Showing/Following ‘Asbaab’ (Means) to achieve a Targetted Goal (End) is yet another way.

Subhanallah. If we think more deeply, more hidden pearls will come to limelight, InshaaAllah.

Teachers can well display this image, inShaaAllah, in their classrooms and tell the students to come up with their creative ideas, gently reminding them to think critically too.

Dear brothers and sisters, Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.

I am sure you must be aware that the links to the week’s Jumu’ah Khutbah in UAE are given here but I do not post it as a separate post to avoid frequent postings.

Today’s Khutbah was on Surah al Ikhlaas (“Qul Huwal-laahu Ahad”) and I feel every Muslim must go through this as the content is of much benefit for everyday living.

Virtues of saying Bismillaah

Thanks to the UAE Awqaf, this week’s Jumu’ah Khutbah was based on the virtues and benefits of Saying Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. 

Allah is the creator of everything and with His name we must start most of the things we do. Any act that began with Bismillaah is graced with barakah.

Right from the beginning of his mission as the Last and Final Messenger of Allah to mankind down to his last breath, Prophet Muhammad Sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam, has taught us hundreds of du’aas (supplications) and ways to remember and glorify Allah (adhkaar). Du’aas and Adhkaar that are simple, yet splendid! Mind-boggling, yet insightful! Lucid, yet marvelous!  Precise, yet comprehensive! Humble, yet piercing!  We have no choice but to marvel at this glorious Prophet’s humility and worship towards his Creator. 

How to instill the Qualities of Manhood in our Children?

This question represents one of the major problems of parenting in today’s world. The following are some of many Islamic points that will help develop manhood in a child’s personality:

1. Call them by respectful Nicknames:

Calling the child Abu so and so, or Umm so and so, is something that increases their sense of responsibility and makes them feel older than their actual age. This will make them feel equal to older people. (Abu means father/Umm means mother)

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar.

Fasting six days of the month of Shawwal is mentioned in authentic ahadeeth.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 

“Whosoever fasted in Ramadhaan and then followed up with six fasting days of Shawwal, it is like fasting every day.” (Muslim)

“Rely on Allah, and Do Not Give Up…”

When Prophet Muhammad (sal…) said: “Strive for what benefits you…” he was encouraging us to hasten in seizing the positive opportunities that come our way.

When he added: “… and rely on Allah…”, he was showing us that we should draw upon our faith in order to strengthen ourselves in our efforts.

This is why the Prophet (sal…) did not stop there. He continued by saying: “… and do not give up.”
