Laylatul Qadr nights have come to embrace us …. alhamdulillaah 🙂
PS: Tonight (Friday) is the Fourth Odd (27th) Night in places where Ramadhaan commenced on 6th June.
Qur’an motivates its readers to reflect upon its verses.
In fact reflection is one of the purposes of the Qur’an.
Let us reflect over the encouraged du’aa of Laylatul Qadr along with some related aayaat (verses) of the glorious Book of Allah, Inshaaallah. Continue reading

أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَاتٍ – Ayyaamam Ma’duudaat – is the apt description for the Month of Fasting. Limited Number of Days!
So limited that you don’t know how fast its days pass until you end up saying: Allah! It is as if Ramadhaan started just now…and see these many days flew away!
1/3rd 1/2 of Ramadhaan 1437 is gone!! Subhanallaah!
Precious moments must be valued and treasured. Not wasted in unnecessary and vain pursuits! Continue reading

🙂 Wishing all my readers RAMADHAAN MUBAARAK
With the approach of Ramadan every year, I always recall the following Prophetic hadith:
“My people (Ummah) are granted five gifts that no prophet before me had been given. First, when it is the first night of Ramadan, Allah looks at His servants. He will never punish those at whom He looks. Second, the smell of their mouths when night approaches is more pleasant [to Allah] than the scent of musk. Third, angels seek Allah’s forgiveness for them everyday and night. Fourth, Allah commands Paradise saying, ‘Be prepared and adorned for My servants; they are about to be relieved from the pains of the worldly life and move to My Home and Honor.’ Fifth, when it is the last night (of Ramadan) Allah forgives the sins of all people.” Thereupon, a man asked, “Is it the night of Qadr (Power)?” He (the Prophet) said, “No, don’t you see that once workers finish their tasks, they take their wages?” (Ahmad and Al-Bazzar) Continue reading
When you love a person you want be like him. This is especially and spectacularly true when it comes to the love of Muslims towards their beloved Prophet sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam. To quote Ustadh (late) Khurram Murad,
“Indeed, never in history has a man influenced mankind, even beyond his death, so deeply and so pervasively as he has. He brings light and peace to countless hearts and lives. They love him more dearly than their own selves. In him they find their greatest source of inspiration and guidance. He is the ultimate norm and the perfect example for them…….”
The upcoming Ramadhaan will bring in its wake yet another opportunity for the Muslims worldwide to relive and demonstrate, once again, their unflinching love and reverence to the greatest man ever. Continue reading

As Ramadhaan is round the corner, you may come across lots of books/articles on internet about Fasting, Zakah etc.
Of all the books, I would rate this short and sweet write-up by one of the most prolific writers of modern times, late Ustadh Khurram Murad*, as No. 1 – the topmost book ever written on the subject ‘Making the Most of Ramadhaan’.
I request all my readers to please take time to read this 34-page book well before the coming of the blessed month, Inshaa’Allah. Even if you have read this book before, no problem read it again as Reminder Benefits Muslims. Continue reading

As some may find it difficult to memorize the selected portion given in the previous post or some may not like the unconventional style of doing Hifdh of the verses selected on thematic basis, I am presenting the memorization schedule in a different way.
Here are some Alternatives to Memorizing the glorious Qur’an in the month of Shabaan and Ramadhaan, InshaaAllah. Continue reading
PS: Welcoming Shabaan 🙂
By the grace of Allah, the files are ready, alhamdulillaah.
Are you ready to take up the assignment?
The Hifdh Plan which I am presenting here is thematic. In most cases, one ayah per day is selected for memorization. However, depending on the context and the continuation of the meaning, it runs into the next ayah.
A few points to consider if you are willing to memorize from the glorious Qur’an, InshaaAllah. Continue reading
When someone you are deeply attached to departs, you feel sad, lonely, and dejected.
When Ramadhaan leaves us, we feel abandoned.
When you have to wind up your Umrah/Hajj journey and you know that this is your last sight of Ka’bah, your spiritual heart bleeds.
The absence of permanence in different facets of our life is the common factor for all our heartbreaks. Continue reading
Please be reminded that today (Thursday) is 8th of Muharram and Aashoora falls on Saturday (24th October 2015) in UAE, Saudi Arabia and in many other parts of the world.
As per authentic Islamic traditions we are encouraged to fast either on the 9th and 10th of Muharram OR on the 10th and 11th.
This clarification is given here as there is confusion created by the already published calendars by some Muslim governments which erroneously say that today is 9th of Muharram which is NOT the case. Continue reading
Here are some special things that we especially need to do in addition to our normal day’s Islamic activity such as offering five time prayers, reciting the glorious Qur’an etc.
According to authentic hadeeth ‘Hajj is Arafah’. Therefore, the Day of Arafah is of great importance and significance. We need to at least take care of the following things on the Day of Arafah, Inshaa’Allah: Continue reading
As pointed out in the post Ramadhaan is Seeker’s Paradise Allah wants us to call upon Him more and more in the blessed month of Ramadhaan as the Doors of Paradise are open and He is ever-ready to bestow His infinite blessings. He has even reserved a Special and Exclusive Gate called Ar-Rayyaan to honour those who respond to His Call by observing fast in the month of Ramadhaan.
Even though the feeling that Allah is Near is more distinct in the month of Ramadhaan, the fact is that He is Near and closer to you than yourself not just in the month of Ramadhaan but also all through your life! Allah has conveyed this Good News to you through His glorious Messenger, Prophet Muhammad sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam, through the medium of this noble ayah:
Alhamdulillaah, the Last Ten Days of Ramadhaan, especially the Laylatul Qadr nights, have come to embrace us and shower immense blessings upon us, Inshaa’Allah.
‘Aa’ishah (radiyallaahu anha) said:
“When the last ten days (of Ramadan) would come, the Prophet (sal-lal-laahu `alaihi wa sallam) would spend his nights in worship, wake his family (at night), exert himself and tighten his Izaar (waist-cloth).”
…. please continue reading to know the dates of Laylatul Qadr nights and also to find great resources….Baarakallahu Feekum.

Wishing all my dear followers, readers and blog visitors a Happy and Blessed Ramadhaan. RAMADHAAN MUBAARAK!
Note: Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah. I am re-posting this with the intention to spread the word that Qur’an should be read with understanding. Baarakallahu Feekum.
There are many “religious” books available in the spiritual supermarkets of the world. How many of them tell their readers or followers to ponder and reflect over their teachings?
Do you know that there are some wonderful religious books – so “wonderful” that you don’t need a brain to understand!
The Qur’an never makes its readers mentally-challenged! Alhamdulillaah.
The Qur’an is unique. It tells you to think. It makes you to think.
