In different languages and educational systems, there are common approaches to drive home a point and make one understand the significance of something. One such approach is the usage of idioms and proverbs.
Allah, Who created man and gave him cognizance and the power of speech, uses superior similes and examples to put sense in his mind so that he reflects, applies his mind and develops some reasonable attitudes in life. Continue reading

Found this interesting, so thought of sharing it…..
When Umar ibn al-Khattab radi allahu `anhu (may Allah be pleased with him) was walking in the market, he passed by a man who was supplicating, “O Allah, make us of Your ‘few’ servants! O Allah make us of Your ‘few’ servants!”. اللهم اجعلني من عبادك القليل
Sharing an incredibly meaningful picture! Subhanallaah.
We need to think in a different way as to why the world is not comfortable with Islam, and why Muslims are normally being targeted, insulted and ridiculed.
Jealousy; fear, apprehension and insecure feeling that Islam will become a dominant force in the world – these are some reasons why Islam is being made to hate in the world today.
Muslims being the Blessed Nation, is the principal reason why Islam and Muslims, down the ages, happen to be always at the receiving end.
In this post, as the title says, we will try to find out the reasons as to how Muslim Ummah is the Blessed Nation, a distinction conferred by none other than the Lord of the worlds Himself, Who Alone has the prerogative right to bestow honour and dignity on whomsoever He wills.
Dear brothers and sisters, Assalamu Alaikum.
When I wrote Part 1 on Adhaan, I was having the intention to continue with a second post but due to work related stress could not do so. Today I thought of at least giving different links so that those interested can find this beneficial, Inshaa’Allah. Continue reading
The glorious Qur’an directs every human being to seek Light from the Source of Light as Almighty Allah alone can bring out a person from darknesses to Light. So man must understand that he to whom his Creator grants not light, for him there is no light!
Through the “Light Verse” of the Qur’an we understand the importance and significance of Light and Knowledge.
True believers in Islam are those who follow the Light that was sent down with Prophet Muhammad sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam. Continue reading
أذان Adhaan (Azaan) translated as ‘Prayer Call’ or ‘Call to Prayer’ originates from the Arabic root أذن adhina which means “to listen, to allow, to permit, to hear, to learn, to call, to announce, to make known, to inform, to notify, to call to prayer, to exhort, to urge, to herald”.
Adhaan is the perpetual International Anthem of Muslims. It is also Islam’s official Broadcasting Channel. Adhaan is in fact the Global Announcement of Muslims – the Proclamation of the oneness of Almighty Lord – echoed throughout the world via hundreds and thousands of minarets spread across every nook and corner of Planet Earth – not once but five times in a day.
Going beyond the popular cliche 24-7, I can say that the Muslim Prayer Call, Adhaan, is much more than any Live Feed, Live Streaming!
Ka’bah plays a pivotal role in the life of a Muslim. It is an indispensable part of a Muslim’s life.
It is a Muslim’s anchor and nucleus. It is the centre of our life and existence. It is our Qiblah.
Ka’bah is the symbol of monotheism. The flag of Islam.
Yet Ka’bah itself is an empty building with nothing inside. Continue reading

The way the Qur’an is recited in some places is so disgusting that it needs to be condemned in the strongest possible terms at least by people endued with knowledge and wisdom. This message by Shaikh (Dr) Haitham Al-Haddad is very apt and I am reposting here for the benefit of my readers.
Last year I wrote a post on this topic (link given below) and it drew mixed reaction from readers. The purpose is not to hurt those innocent and general Muslims who take pains to offer Taraweeh prayers but the message is clearly addressed to the Imams and the Huffaaz who lead Taraweeh prayers and are therefore responsible for providing an opportunity to the musal’leen to listen to the recitation of the Qur’an.
