PS: Posted on the 27th Night of Ramadhaan 1445.

May Allah bless us with the honour of living the night of Laylatul Qadr with Imaan and Ihtesaab, hoping for His reward & fearing His punishment.

May Allah forgive us. He is the Pardoner and the Forgiver. He loves to forgive and we hope that He will forgive and pardon His believers. May Allah alleviate the sufferings of the distressed humanity.

Blessed Days, Blessed Souls

بسم الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

🙂 Alhamdulillaah, the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah has commenced 🙂

As per the official announcement in Saudi Arabia, UAE and adjoining places, today (12th Aug) is the First Day of Dhul Hijjah 1439. Accordingly, the Day of Arafah will fall on Monday, the 20th August, and Tuesday, 21st August, will be the first day of Eid al Adhaa. (Please check out for the local announcement done in your respective place as one has to go by the fatwa of one’s region)

Although there are mind-blowing resources already posted on this page, I wish to add the Dhul Hijjah Planner with just a few other related posts, by way of reminder and for the benefit of one and all, InShaaAllah. The focus, for me and you, should be on individual performance: to change the inner self.

May Allah give us the Tawfeeque and Hidayah to live by the teachings of Qur’an and Hadeeth to the best of our ability.  Continue reading

Making the Best out of the 10 Blessed Days!

بسم الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

In the Quran, the Al-Mighty took an oath by two aspects of His creation, both being great in their stature, both being symbols of Allah, and both being signs to reflect on:

“By the dawn, and by the ten nights” (Surah al-Fajr, verse 1)

The dawn is truly a magnificent sign of Allah. It signifies the end of darkness and passing of the night, and heralds the beginning of a new day. It is a phenomenon that mankind recognises itself as having no control over, as Allah declared in the Qur’an:  Continue reading

What is al Baaqiyaat-us-Salihaat ?

When someone you are deeply attached to departs, you feel sad, lonely, and dejected.

When Ramadhaan leaves us, we feel abandoned.

When you have to wind up your Umrah/Hajj journey and you know that this is your last sight of Ka’bah, your spiritual heart bleeds.

The absence of permanence in different facets of our life is the common factor for all our heartbreaks. Continue reading

Sadaqah and Zakah in Ramadhaan

Ramadhaan is one month that is full of righteous action from the stand point of a true Muslim.

We fast in this month. We offer voluntary prayers in addition to five obligatory ones, we read more of Qur’an and try to understand it, some of us prefer to go on Umrah, we sacrifice our sleep to offer Qiyamul Layl, we become so ardent and eager to seek forgiveness of our sins in this blessed month. We give more in sadaqah in this month.  Continue reading

The hallmark of true Believers: Excellence in charity!

The next ayah that starts with Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu in Surah al Baqarah is ayah No. 267.

Islam’s unique feature is evident in this command: Do unto others what you would like others to do with you.

Excellence is the hallmark of Islam. It is so amazingly evident from Islam’s approach to the very concept of Sadaqah: ‘spending in the way of Allah’. Continue reading

For the end to be good, the means should also be good!

The next ayah addressing Muslims through the kindly address Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu is also related to spending in the way of Allah but with a similitude that makes a thinking Muslim sit up and take stock of his/her  charitable deeds. This is Ayah No. 264 of Surah al Baqarah.

Islam doesn’t approve the slogan ‘Ends justify the means’!  Continue reading

Matters concerning Rizq and spending in the way of Allah

Alhamdulillah, this is the Eighth post in the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu.

Today’s ayah is Ayah No. 254 which is also from Surah al Baqarah.

In this ayah, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala not only motivates His Believers to “Spend of what We have provided for you” but also warns them of dire consequences if they refuse to act.

Infaaq fee Sabeelillah, that is “spending in the way of Allah” is an important concept in Islam. It is the proof of a Muslim’s goodness.  Continue reading
