4 Promises of Allah, and our Response

بسم الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

Allah’s Promises are Unbreakable indeed. The conditional promises make us think/recall the ‘Cause and Effect’ way of functioning in the world.

Actually, in this there is a beautiful message indeed:
These Unbreakable Promises of Allah will come into effect only when the Believer takes the First Step.

‘If You Remember Me, I’ll Remember You’.

‘If You’re Grateful unto Me, I’ll Give You More’.

‘If You call upon Me, I’ll Respond to You’.

‘I’ll Not Punish You, If You have the habit of sincerely seeking forgiveness from Me’.

Also, the Qur’anic beauty of Communication Skill is very well noticed here. And this too is a source of inspiration for us.

* Placing Second Person first, followed by the First Person draws the attention of the reader/listener.

* Putting conditional clause in order to get things done is a persuasive and powerful way of effectively communicating things.

* Promising Rewards by way of Assertive Communication is another way.

* Showing/Following ‘Asbaab’ (Means) to achieve a Targetted Goal (End) is yet another way.

Subhanallah. If we think more deeply, more hidden pearls will come to limelight, InshaaAllah.

Teachers can well display this image, inShaaAllah, in their classrooms and tell the students to come up with their creative ideas, gently reminding them to think critically too.

Sal-lal-laahu-ala-Muhammad, Sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam

Baarakallaahu Feekum.

Limited Days, Unlimited Nonsense, and a Verse of Warning!

أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَاتٍ – Ayyaamam Ma’duudaat – is the apt description for the Month of Fasting. Limited Number of Days!

So limited that you don’t know how fast its days pass until you end up saying: Allah! It is as if Ramadhaan started just now…and see these many days flew away! Subhanallaah!

Precious moments must be valued and treasured. Not wasted in unnecessary and vain pursuits!  Continue reading

A Ramadhaan With Muhammadur Rasoolullah

When you love a person you want be like him. This is especially and spectacularly true when it comes to the love of Muslims towards their beloved Prophet sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam. To quote Ustadh (late) Khurram Murad,

“Indeed, never in history has a man influenced mankind, even beyond his death, so deeply and so pervasively as he has. He brings light and peace to countless hearts and lives. They love him more dearly than their own selves. In him they find their greatest source of inspiration and guidance. He is the ultimate norm and the perfect example for them…….”

The upcoming Ramadhaan will bring in its wake yet another opportunity for the Muslims worldwide to relive and demonstrate, once again, their unflinching love and reverence to the greatest man ever. Continue reading

A Letter to all Muslim Brothers…about Sisters!

Note 1: Sisters also to read this 🙂 InshaaAllah. Note 2: This is a re-post of a 2012 article.

Dear brothers in Islam, Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah.

This is to request all Muslim men – husbands, fathers, fathers-in-law, sons and brothers – to consider these two principal verses of the Glorious Qur’an and appreciate the graciousness of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’aala.

Salah (Prayer) and Sawm (Fasting) are two most important pillars of Islam. The interesting point to note is that Allah, while enjoining these obligatory acts of worship, uses a particular phrase that needs our attention, and because of which I said we must appreciate the graciousness of Allah, and of course the humane aspect of Islam.  Continue reading

Things to Do on the Day of Arafah

Here are some special things that we especially need to do in addition to our normal day’s Islamic activity such as offering five time prayers, reciting the glorious Qur’an etc.

According to authentic hadeeth ‘Hajj is Arafah’. Therefore, the Day of Arafah is of great importance and significance. We need to at least take care of the following things on the Day of Arafah, Inshaa’Allah: CONTINUE READING…

Welcoming Shabaan, then Ramadhaan….

Things become easy for a person if he/she is in a habit of doing something regularly, and in advance. The one who practices charity on a regular basis finds it very easy to give out Zakah once in a year.  The student who studies and prepares himself in a systematic way, finds it easy while sitting for the exams.  Continue reading

Making the Most of Ramadhaan

وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
“And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the Believers”.
(Surah Az-Zaariyaat)

YasSarNalQuR'aN

As Ramadhaan is round the corner, you may come across lots of books/articles on internet etc. discussing about fasting, zakah and all.

Of all the books, I would rate this short and sweet write-up by one of the most prolific writers of modern times, late Ustadh Khurram Murad*, as No. 1 – the top most book ever written on the subject ‘Making the Most of Ramadhaan’.

I request all my readers to please take time to read this 34-page book well before the coming of the blessed month, Inshaa’Allah. Even if you have read this book before, still this is worth-reading again.

Establishing Salah is not hard on those who are in the habit of offering nafl, that is extra/supererogatory prayers, regularly.

Islam appreciates this approach in order to make things easy FOR THE MAIN EVENT.

The Standing of ‘Arafah for Non-Pilgrims

I found this article relevant and very appreciative. So re-posting here.

The root Waw Qaaf and Faa in Arabic, commonly refers to standing as is used in Wuqoof ‘Arafaah i.e. The Standing on Mount ‘Arafah. It also carries the meaning of stopping or pausing. Whilst the former is unattainable for all those who did not make the pilgrimage this year, the latter is an altogether more attainable concept.  Continue reading

Message from Makkah

Today is 8th Dhul Hijjah 1434. First day of Hajj.

Hajj, an amazing act of worship commenced and institutionalized about 4000 years ago under the iconic leadership of Prophet Ibraheem alaihis salam.

Muslims from every nook and corner of the world have gathered in Makkah. They have come from far and wide, from every distant pass using all modes of transportation available today.

The world must follow Prophet Muhammad to achieve success and salvation!

Ever since the release of the latest dirty video on our Prophet (peace be upon him), I was thinking to write on the historical reason behind mockery and the hate campaign. The question why Islam and its Prophet is always under attack by some groups of people has just one word answer: Jealousy! Read on…..

The Jews and Christians were already informed by their respective Prophets – Prophet Moosa and Prophet Eesa (Moses and Jesus, Peace be upon them) – about the coming of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the need to obey and follow him.

The Old Testament is old and outdated and the New Testament is no more new. Now, the world has to follow the Last and Final Testament, that is the Qur’an. This is the only way and there can’t be any other alternative to success. Arrogance and prejudice have be to shed and things must be seen clearly.  Continue reading

Jumu’ah Khutbah in UAE (21 Sept 2012)

The topic chosen for Jumu’ah Khutbah  in the masajid of UAE is apt and relevant in the context of the global reaction against the dirty movie on the Prophet of Islam.

Every must Muslim love the Prophet more than one’s own father, children and anybody else! The companions of the Messenger of Allah are the best role models for us.

How was the Companions love towards our Master, Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him?  Continue reading

Subject of History

This article by the great Mujahid-scholar, late Dr. Ismail al Faruqi, discusses the purpose of a Muslim’s fast in a unique style. I wish to share this with you all. Read on…

Sawm should not be misunderstood as an act of self-denial, and an act of asceticism and, therefore, a renunciation of the world and of life, as an act of self-mortification. This life and this world are God’s creation, and are, therefore, good. He established them as people’s destiny enjoined upon him to seek and promote them. His Prophet, Muhammad, defined, the good, the noble, the felicitous person as one whose career adds a real plus to the total value of the universe, who leaves the world a better place than that in which he was born. But, sawm is definitely an abstinence from food, drink and physical intimacy. What then is its meaning?  Continue reading
