The Ever Winning Business

Merchandise. Investment and Returns. Buying and Selling. Profit and Loss. Balance Sheet. Asset and Liability. Stocking Taking and Accountability. Audit and Auditor.

These terms go beyond the normal meaning of business, trade or commerce.

Islam is business with Allah. You invest your time, talents, wealth and your own life in His cause, and He gives you in return, an unfailing reward.

This ‘Business’ with Allah brings nothing but profit. Other than this, by Allah! every other endeavor of man is an exercise in futility

Endurance leads to success!

After a gap of about two months, I am continuing, alhamdulillaah, with the series on Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu.

Today’s discussion is on Ayah No. 200 of Surah Aali ‘Imran, the last ayah of this Surah.

This one short ayah is the sum and substance of Islam. It sums up all the obligations laid upon the Muslim Ummah by Shariah. This ayah is quintessential to all Muslims – Muslim individuals, Muslims as a Community and Islamic State.

Allah commands the Believers to adopt the most vital elements of Imaan, Islam and Ihsaan in their life.   Continue reading

Matters concerning death!

‘I told him not to go there but he went. If he had heeded to my advice, he would have been alive now’.

‘If they had been with us, they would not have been killed’.

These are the talks of unbelievers, and it is kufr to talk like that.

As a Muslim we have to firmly believe that Allah is the Giver of Life (Al-Muh’yee) and the Causer of Death, Al Mumeet. That death happens at its appointed time and place, and no man has any business to meddle with the affairs of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala. The next ayah, dear brothers and sisters, with the lovely address Yaaa Ayyahul Lazeena Aamanu is about death and its reality.  Continue reading

Shun Ribaa, Fear Allah, Have success!

Dear brothers/sisters, Assalamu Alaikum. Due to work stress and domestic compulsion, I am unable to post frequently on the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu. Sorry about that. This is the 15th post of this series. Read on, Inshaa’Allah…..

Those who consume usury, among the Believers in Islam, cannot achieve success.

And how can they achieve success when they go against the commands of their Lord Almighty?

In this ayah of Surah Aali Imran, we Muslims are enjoined to adopt Allah-consciousness in our economic life so that we are saved from eternal damnation and perpetual  misery.  Continue reading

The question of intimacy!

The second next ayah with the address Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu in Surah Aali Imran is Ayah No. 118.

For a Believer in Islam, the question of intimacy is vital for the welfare of Muslim Ummah.  What category for people are worthy of being taken as intimate friends? With whom a Muslim can share his inner secrets? Who are the those we can consider as close confidants?  Continue reading

Ribaa is evil and strictly prohibited in Islam!

The next ayah, Ayah No. 278, in the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamnu is also from Surah al Baqarah.

After discussing Aayaats 254 to 274 that deal with charity, we are now moving ahead with another set of aayaats (verses 275 to 281) dealing with interest/usury among other things.

While charity denotes giving, generosity, purification, growth, cooperation and mutual social welfare, Ribaa signifies stinginess, greed and self-aggrandizement.  Continue reading

Write down your loan and debt transactions!

Dear brothers and sisters, Assalamu Alaikum.

Please Note:  The next ayah in the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu is about the forbiddance of Ribaa, that is, Interest or Usury. Since the topic needs elaborate study/discussion, and given the professional workload, I am unable to post about it now. Sorry for delaying. Actually when you want the post to be short, you need a lot of time to prepare and present in a concise way.

Inshaa’Allah I will post on ayah no. 278 in a day or two.

As the next ayah addressing the Believers has already been posted here 🙂 I am re-posting it so that at least those of you who didn’t read that before can read it now, and also my dear subscribers/regular readers can re-read it and refresh your Eemaan, Inshaa’Allah. Continue reading

The hallmark of true Believers: Excellence in charity!

The next ayah that starts with Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu in Surah al Baqarah is ayah No. 267.

Islam’s unique feature is evident in this command: Do unto others what you would like others to do with you.

Excellence is the hallmark of Islam. It is so amazingly evident from Islam’s approach to the very concept of Sadaqah: ‘spending in the way of Allah’. Continue reading

For the end to be good, the means should also be good!

The next ayah addressing Muslims through the kindly address Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu is also related to spending in the way of Allah but with a similitude that makes a thinking Muslim sit up and take stock of his/her  charitable deeds. This is Ayah No. 264 of Surah al Baqarah.

Islam doesn’t approve the slogan ‘Ends justify the means’!  Continue reading

Matters concerning Rizq and spending in the way of Allah

Alhamdulillah, this is the Eighth post in the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu.

Today’s ayah is Ayah No. 254 which is also from Surah al Baqarah.

In this ayah, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala not only motivates His Believers to “Spend of what We have provided for you” but also warns them of dire consequences if they refuse to act.

Infaaq fee Sabeelillah, that is “spending in the way of Allah” is an important concept in Islam. It is the proof of a Muslim’s goodness.  Continue reading

Experience Grace. Or Face Humiliation!

Can there be any voyager sailing in two boats at one and the same time?

Imagine yourself keeping one leg in one boat and the other leg in another boat, and trying to sail. Think what will happen to you?

You will fall down, harm yourself, and consequently drown yourself!

Satan wants the true Muslims to do precisely this with regard to putting Islam into practice!  Continue reading

This is for the men of understanding!

We live in a paradoxically ridden world. Consider these two cases:

1. If you talk about Shariah, you are considered as a terrorist. You loot a country, you are not a terrorist!

You annihilate a whole nation, you are not a terrorist. You talk of Islam and Shariah Law, you are a terrorist!!

Shariah has become a dreaded word today. It is made-to-appear as a dreaded entity.

2. You can carry on attacks on a foreign soil and kill hundreds of civilians. It is okay for you! The world must not question.

If one Palestinian kills a Jew, you will launch rocket attacks on the civilians killing scores of Palestinians and the Muslim world must not question!  A whole illegal “nation” is sitting upon the land of Palestinians after killings thousands of Palestinians and Muslims must not talk about the killings. About invasion. About the expansion. About bulldozing of colonies!!  Continue reading

If you worship Allah, do this!

The next in the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu is Ayah No.172 of Surah al Baqarah.

In this ayah, Allah commands the Believers to eat of good things of what He has provided and give thanks unto Him.

People may think that this ayah is very simple as it contains a command about eating and being grateful to the Provider, the Nourisher.

But the fact is that this command is not that simple. It is a serious command which contains a severe warning.  Continue reading

Do not emulate the Jews!!

Note: This is the second post on the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu, alhamdulillah.

In the first post I discussed the last verse first. That is, the ayah of Surah At-Tahreem discussed in the first post  is the last verse in the Qur’an as far as the verses commencing with Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu is concerned.

Today I would like to discuss on Ayah No. 104 of Surah al Baqarah which is the first ayah in the Qur’an to commence with the phrase, “Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu”.

In this ayah, Allah addresses the Believers asking them NOT TO emulate the Jews in their play on certain Arabic words when speaking to the Prophet Sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam.

Allah, therefore, forbade His believing servants from imitating the behavior and deeds of the disbelievers either in tongue or deed.   Continue reading

Tawbatun Nasuha: Sincere Repentance

An excellent list of the characteristic features of true Believers in Islam is mentioned in Surah at-Tawbah.

I would like to start the series on Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu by drawing inspiration from this beautiful ayah.

Tawbah is the first and foremost ingredient necessary for all reformation. Sincere Repentance is the stepping stone to achieving ultimate success.  Continue reading

Dear Believers…!

I am intending to start a daily post on يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ‘Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanuu’, Inshaa’Allah

There are nearly 90 verses in the Qur’an which directly address the Believing Muslims and if we try to understand each verse daily and also put into practice Inshaa’Allah it will be a source of Ajr and Barakah, Inshaa’Allah.

As a prelude I thought it is important to discuss on the phrase itself.

What is the meaning of يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواContinue reading
