Redirecting and Reinforcing ‘If’al Ma Tu’mar’ to Oneself

بسم الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

Reflecting on an ayah is an ibadah of a highest kind.

Today as the world celebrates Eid al Adhaa, I would like to discuss on an ayah that celebrates and commemorates the act and the spirit of sacrificing for the cause of Allah.

Reading the story is one thing. Drawing inspiration is another.  Continue reading

Critical Thinking: Best Tribute to Prophet Ibraheem

بسم الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

These are the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah. And we all know that Hajj is connected with the life and teachings of Prophet Ibraheem alaihis salam.

Qur’an mentions that Prophet Ibraheem is the best role model for all humanity.

What a great tribute indeed it would be if we, as parents and teachers, kindle or lighten up in our children the spark of critical thinking. You know why this is so special, more so when we are indebted to the immaculate contributions of Prophet Ibraheem? Continue reading

A Ramadhaan With Muhammadur Rasoolullah

When you love a person you want be like him. This is especially and spectacularly true when it comes to the love of Muslims towards their beloved Prophet sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam. To quote Ustadh (late) Khurram Murad,

“Indeed, never in history has a man influenced mankind, even beyond his death, so deeply and so pervasively as he has. He brings light and peace to countless hearts and lives. They love him more dearly than their own selves. In him they find their greatest source of inspiration and guidance. He is the ultimate norm and the perfect example for them…….”

The upcoming Ramadhaan will bring in its wake yet another opportunity for the Muslims worldwide to relive and demonstrate, once again, their unflinching love and reverence to the greatest man ever. Continue reading

Manifestation of Mercy in Surah al Mulk, Part 2

1. Blessed be Allah Who has kept everything under His absolute control.  The universe is functioning perfectly and smoothly only because  it is controlled by the One and Only Almighty Lord.

The dominion belongs to Him alone! The sovereignty belongs to Him alone!  The privilege to create is His and the privilege to legislate for His creation is also exclusively His!

The problem in the world today is that man has snatched the right of Allah and taken upon himself saying  ‘Sovereignty belongs to people’!  How can we the people be sovereign? It is the folly of the hegemonic man that he considers himself to be the sovereign lord!!  Continue reading

The world must follow Prophet Muhammad to achieve success and salvation!

Ever since the release of the latest dirty video on our Prophet (peace be upon him), I was thinking to write on the historical reason behind mockery and the hate campaign. The question why Islam and its Prophet is always under attack by some groups of people has just one word answer: Jealousy! Read on…..

The Jews and Christians were already informed by their respective Prophets – Prophet Moosa and Prophet Eesa (Moses and Jesus, Peace be upon them) – about the coming of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the need to obey and follow him.

The Old Testament is old and outdated and the New Testament is no more new. Now, the world has to follow the Last and Final Testament, that is the Qur’an. This is the only way and there can’t be any other alternative to success. Arrogance and prejudice have be to shed and things must be seen clearly.  Continue reading

“I Love Not Things That Set”!

Dear sisters and brothers, Assalamu Alaikum.

In the life of Prophet Ibraheem (peace be upon him) we have an Excellent Model to emulate.

I love what Ibraheem (Alaihis salam) said, ‘I love not things that set’!

This statement, uttered by the great Prophet in the beginning of his career, is of iconic nature.  Continue reading

Man’s relationship with his Lord

Who is our Creator, the Almighty Lord, and what is our relationship with Him?

Many a philosopher, since time immemorial, tried to find an answer to this question. They have written tones of volumes only to come out with crippled theories and cranky theologies!   In today’s world of spiritual supermarket, the leaders of man-made religions, themselves spiritually-bankrupt, successfully groom their followers into a more spiritually-challenged lot! Moses and Al-Khidr: Model of Resolution

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

One of the stylistic tools used by the Glorious Qur’an to convey its message is narratives (qasas), which can be found in the Qur’an in different forms and for different purposes. The Qur’an relates the stories of the previous nations, stories of the prophets, descriptions of certain events, etc. All in all, the objective is clear: It is a teaching, glad tidings for believers, a reminder, and a warner. So in all the stories of the Qur’an, there is a lesson for people to derive, not just a narration or a mere tale-telling, as Allah says: Continue reading
