Helping Oppressed Muslims

What is our stance concerning the slaughter of Muslims in Palestine and other parts of the world that is happening right now, where houses are being destroyed, farms are being wrecked, children are being killed, the wounded are being detained in the streets, houses are being bombarded and people are being prevented by the Jews and others, from buying the food and drink that they need?

What can I, as a Muslim, do?

Ramadhaan: The Month of Jihad

We come across many Islamic scholars and websites discussing about Ramadhaan as the month of forgiveness, of tawbah, of Qur’an, of generosity, of patience etc. Seldom do we find people discussing Ramadhaan as the month of Jihad.

If you read the biography of Prophet Muhammad sal-lal-lahu-alaihi-wa-sallam, you will come to know very well that Ramadhaan has been the month of striving against evil. The Prophet sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam never found any excuse of Ramadhaan being the month of fasting and spiritual upliftment and thus delaying or postponing his mission of striving against evil.

Sajdah Enhances Productivity

The Arabic word ‘Sajdah’, which is translated as ‘prostration’ comes from the root sa-ja-da which means ‘to throw oneself down’.When you prostrate before Allah, you literally throw yourself down.

Throwing oneself down is an amazing act of worship in Islam.

By throwing oneself down, a human being, in fact, elevates his/her status! Subhanallaah!

Crying before Allah

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

When was the last time you cried? Not a few drops of salty water from your eyes or the odd tear that slipped down your face while watching a tragic event.

I am talking about warm tears of the heart; tears that sting your face because they have been there so long and their bitter saltiness has hurt your skin.

Virtues of Ayat Al Kursi

Ayat al Kursi is Ayah No. 255 of Surah al Baqarah, the Second chapter of the Holy Qur’an:

The Glorious Qur’an is the miracle revealed by Allah to His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in the language of his people, the Arabs, who were the masters of the Arabic language. It was a challenge for them to produce the like of the shortest surah or chapter of it. Being the masters of eloquence and rhetoric, they failed to produce anything like it.
