Alternatives to Memorizing the Qur’an

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

As some may find it difficult to memorize the selected portion given in the previous post or some may not like the unconventional style of doing Hifdh of the verses selected on thematic basis, I am presenting the memorization schedule in a different way.

Here are some Alternatives to Memorizing the glorious Qur’an in the month of Shabaan and Ramadhaan, InshaaAllah.

The Hifdh Plan which I am presenting here is thematic. In most cases, one ayah per day is selected for memorization. However, depending on the context and the continuation of the meaning, it runs into the next ayah.

It is indeed one of the blessings of Islam that mankind is blessed with a divine Book – preserved in pristine purity – that talks about revelation, education, divine guidance and enlightenment of the highest level.

The Qur’an that was revealed to humanity’s last and final Messenger, Prophet Muhammad, in the 7th century A.D. encourages and promotes writing as a necessary aspect of human life.

This work of historical importance by the eminent Islamic scholar of the 20th Century (late) Sheikh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi has not become as popular as it should have been. Unfortunate also is the news that the publication of this significant work by the original publisher has been stopped!!

The series written in four volumes under the title Saviours of Islamic Spirit is of immense value to a student of Islamic history and civilization. Muslims, especially those of Asian origin, will find an oceanic depth of information about their past.
