Today ‘Shariah‘ is projected in the media as if it is something dreadful!
The hate-merchants, with all their propaganda, overt and covert agenda, would like you to ‘believe’ that Shariah is warfare while the fact is that Shariah is for human welfare!
In reality it is a ‘Clear Path’ laid down by the Almighty Himself so that man can legislate his affairs in the light of His guidance.
Linguistically, the word “Shariah” means “the way to a waterhole”. Continue reading
It is only sad, I can say, that despite knowledge explosion and awareness of Islam through Friday speeches, books, videos, lectures, websites etc. many Muslims are still unaware of what constitutes something to be Islamic.
How to look at a particular thing and then conclude whether it is Islamic or un-Islamic or simply Muslim?
This post will clarify some misconceptions and make things clear, Inshaa’Allah. Continue reading
Presenting some Ramadhaan and fasting related articles, du’aas, e-books, fatwas, presentations etc. for the benefit of one and all, inshaa’Allah. Continue reading
Dear brothers/sisters, Assalamu Alaikum. Due to work stress and domestic compulsion, I am unable to post frequently on the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu. Sorry about that. This is the 15th post of this series. Read on, Inshaa’Allah…..
Those who consume usury, among the Believers in Islam, cannot achieve success.
And how can they achieve success when they go against the commands of their Lord Almighty?
In this ayah of Surah Aali Imran, we Muslims are enjoined to adopt Allah-consciousness in our economic life so that we are saved from eternal damnation and perpetual misery. Continue reading
The next ayah, Ayah No. 278, in the series Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamnu is also from Surah al Baqarah.
After discussing Aayaats 254 to 274 that deal with charity, we are now moving ahead with another set of aayaats (verses 275 to 281) dealing with interest/usury among other things.
While charity denotes giving, generosity, purification, growth, cooperation and mutual social welfare, Ribaa signifies stinginess, greed and self-aggrandizement. Continue reading
We live in a paradoxically ridden world. Consider these two cases:
1. If you talk about Shariah, you are considered as a terrorist. You loot a country, you are not a terrorist!
You annihilate a whole nation, you are not a terrorist. You talk of Islam and Shariah Law, you are a terrorist!!
Shariah has become a dreaded word today. It is made-to-appear as a dreaded entity.
2. You can carry on attacks on a foreign soil and kill hundreds of civilians. It is okay for you! The world must not question.
If one Palestinian kills a Jew, you will launch rocket attacks on the civilians killing scores of Palestinians and the Muslim world must not question! A whole illegal “nation” is sitting upon the land of Palestinians after killings thousands of Palestinians and Muslims must not talk about the killings. About invasion. About the expansion. About bulldozing of colonies!! Continue reading
Constitution and judicial system are important elements to govern the human society.
If there is apathy and callousness on the part of any governing authority, it will give an indication that that particular society has gone to dogs!
Girls are being raped. And the law is slack. The crime is heinous. And the punishment is casual!
Day in and day out, we see in India (and I am ashamed to tell this) women are being disgraced and dishonored. The animal in man has not spared even a 5 year old girl child!
And our ‘leaders’ are found discussing, shouting, issuing press statements against the crime. Continue reading
While arguing with people, among friends or colleagues, man always wants to prove his own point and keep his opinion high: “My speech is the best”, ‘My viewpoint is correct’, ‘I have got good command over language’, ‘I am superior, so my word must be supreme!’
But when it comes to the choice and living an Islamic life, for a Muslim the Word of Allah is supreme. It is not because he is a Muslim and out of ‘that’ affinity he ‘wants’ the word of Allah to be supreme but because the Word of Allah by itself is so deserving to be supreme, and by all means it is rightly so!
