Seeking Forgiveness in the Month of Forgiveness

It is as if just now Ramadhaan started, and see how fast we are in to its ninth day!  Truly, these أَيّامًا مَعدودٰتٍ limited number of days pass faster than we think! Subhanallaah!

Imaam Shafi’ said the truth when he compared life to an ice-cube. It melts quickly and in no time! One day death will strike us, and we will be no more!!

You turn, He turns, and success is yours!

The act of ‘turning to’ someone or something involves conscious participation on the part of the one who turns.  You cannot force a person to ‘turn to’ something when he is not ready or not willing to turn.

Or a person may be willing ‘to turn’ but his laziness may not let him do so. So you need to ‘put life’ into the person so as to make him active and lively.

Tawbatun Nasuha: Sincere Repentance

An excellent list of the characteristic features of true Believers in Islam is mentioned in Surah at-Tawbah.

I would like to start the series on Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanu by drawing inspiration from this beautiful ayah.

Tawbah is the first and foremost ingredient necessary for all reformation. Sincere Repentance is the stepping stone to achieving ultimate success.  Continue reading

A reminder unto myself!

These three aayaats from the Glorious Qur’an are a reminder and an eye-opener for a person like me. May Allah forgive our sins and accept our sincere ibaadah. Aameen.

May He let us live as true Muslims and may He take our souls in the state of Imaan, doing ahsanul ‘aamaal. Aameen.  Continue reading

Do Not Despair of Allah’s Mercy!

Islam is all about positive thinking and action. Despair and pessimism have no place in Islam.

I would like to present two beautiful verses that inculcate positive thinking, kindling hope and killing despair. The love and affection the Creator has towards His noble creation is distinctly visible in these verses.  Continue reading

Benefits of Istighfaar 2

Assalamu Alaikum, Bismillah…..

It is almost a co-incidence and a great help from Allah I would say that after posting on Istighfaar: Gateway to Blessings Unlimited, I was reading the Qur’an and I found this ayah which is related to the topic I was discussing there. Alhamdulillah Continue reading

Istighfaar: Gateway to Blessings Unlimited!

Assalamu Alaikum. Bismillah….

Today I would like to discuss on the Significance of Istighfaar and its benefits. This we need to understand because many Muslims know only one side of the benefits of Istighfaar – the forgiveness of one’s sins – and (in most cases) we Muslims do not know the other blessings that come from Istighfaar.

Meaning of ‘istighfaar’:

The word ‘istighfaar’ comes from the Arabic root ghafara which means ‘to forgive’. ‘Istaghfara’ means ‘to seek forgiveness’. Istighfaar is ‘the Islamic way of seeking forgiveness from Allah, Who is one’s Creator, Nourisher and Cherisher.  Continue reading

Fearing the Merciful (Part 2)

This post is the continuation of the article entitled: Fearing the Merciful. If you have not read the first part, I suggest you to read it here and then come back to continue, Insha’Allah.

Ok, sisters and brothers, we were talking about ‘Khashiyar Rahmaana bil-Ghayb’ which means:

To Fear the Most Merciful unseen

To Fear the Most Merciful in secret

To Fear the Most Merciful without seeing Him. Continue reading
