بسم الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

Nice quote from a great Sahabi. Subhanallaah…!

On the authority of of Tāriq Ibn Shihāb رحمه الله that  Salmān al-Faarisī رضي الله عنه stated:

The Qur’an of Fajr: In the stillness and serenity before dawn

Early Hours before dawn is the most productive time by all means.  Our glorious Prophet Muhammad sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam, his noble companions and the pious predecessors of the Muslim Ummah used to value this time by indulging in great acts of worshiping one’s Creator.

Allah mentions in the Qur’an that His righteous servants do give up sleep by arising from their beds to make du’aa, offer Qiyamul layl (Night Prayer) and seek forgiveness for their sins, one’s omissions and commissions.  Continue reading

Attitude at sleep determines the altitude of life!

Prophet Muhammad sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam was a man of perfect words. He used to speak in crystal clear terms. Whether it was a private interaction or a public speech, he was amazing in the choice of words. And how can it not be when he was blessed with the Jawami-ul Kalim, the comprehensive speech. The world has no choice but to agree that our glorious Prophet sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam was the man with words of surgical precision. Subhanallaah!

This not-so-popular-du’aa is comprehensive. It packs in it all elements of Islamic belief and practice: Tawheed, Risalah and Aakhirah apart from highlighting the aadaab and akhlaaq that a true Muslim must have.

Words spoken by a person reveals his personality. Read this hadeeth and make it a daily habit to supplicate with this du’aa while you go to sleep. For this du’aa determines one’s standard of living. And dying!  Continue reading

Qiyam-ul-Layl – Taraweeh Prayer

Riyad-as-Saliheen, Book Eight – The Book of Virtues
Chapter 213 : The Excellence of Optional (Tarawih) Prayer during Ramadan [1187-1188 of 1896]

By Al-Imam Abu Zakariya Yahya bin Sharaf An-Nawawi Ad-Dimashqi

1187. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “He who observes optional prayer (Tarawih prayers) throughout Ramadan, out of sincerity of Faith and in the hope of earning reward will have his past sins pardoned.” Continue reading
