“That is the inheritance of Muhammad صلّى الله عليه وسلم”

During Ramadhaan we witness that all mosques are crowded, Masha’Allah.

This quote from our dear Abu Hurayrah (radhiyallaahu anhu) is relevant and makes a good reading.

May Allah give us the Tawfeeq, Hidayah, the Zouq and the Shouq to go to the masjid even after Ramadhaan.

And now, read, e n j o y and ponder over what Abu Hurayrah (radhiyallaahu anhu) has to say….. Continue reading

The effects of ungratefulness!

Dear brothers and sisters, Assalamu Alaikum.

After reading this and this news, some sadness loomed over me thinking if the first news was true, then it is definitely a bad news for the Ummah as a whole. The parable in Surah Al Nahl struck my mind.

This one ayah is sufficient for every sincere Muslim to understand the significance of being grateful to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, and at the same time know the side effects of being ungrateful to one’s Sustainer!  Continue reading

Hijrah: The least discussed topic in Rabi al Awwal!

Dear brothers and sisters, Assalamu Alaikum.

Most of you would have experienced that every year when the month of Rabi al Awwal arises in our life, e-mails start pouring in with arguments and counter-arguments on Prophet’s birthday. Islamic blogs and websites come up with hundreds of articles and posts on the topic Mawlid/Meelad-un-Nabi.

I feel that the most important historical incident that took place in the life history of our glorious Messenger – Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is seldom discussed in this month! Continue reading

‘Then He will not neglect us’

‘Then He will not neglect us’.

Can you recall which blessed Muslim woman in history said this uniquely inspiring statement?

If your answer was Hajar, then you guessed it right!

Yes, Hajar said this – Hajar, the great mother of Prophet Ismail and the obedient wife of Prophet Ibrahim! (Peace be upon all of them)

Do you know the background in which this exceptionally bold lady uttered this revolutionary statement – a statement which I feel has assumed the shape of a dew drop that is permanently embedded in the cheek of time! Continue reading

Muharram: Facts and Fiction

Muharram is the month with which the Muslims begin their lunar (Hijri) Calendar.

It is one of the four sanctified months about which the Holy Quran Says (what means): {Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred…}  [Quran 9: 36] Continue reading

The Blessed Days: Day of Nahr and the Days of Tashreeq

The Day of Nahr is the Day of Sacrifice which is the 10th day of Dhul-Hijjah.

There are multiple virtues for this Day for it is the Day of the Major Hajj and the best day of the year.

In a Hadeeth (narration), the Prophet (sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) said:

“The greatest day in the sight of Allaah, the Almighty, is the Day of Nahr and then the day of Qarr (the 11th day of Dhul-Hijjah)”. Continue reading

Surah At-Teen: “By this City of Security”

Allah says: “I swear by the fig and the olive, by Mount Sinai, and by this city of security – We have indeed created the human being in the best of moulds. Then we brought him to the lowest of the low, except for those believe and work righteous deeds, for they have a reward unfailing. So who henceforth will give the lie to thee about the judgment? Is not Allah the wisest of all judges?” [Sûrah al-Tîn: 1-8]

Here Allah swears three oaths. The first oath He swears by the fig and the olive. The second He swears by Mount Sinai. The third he swears by the city of security. Continue reading
