What is missing is courage and manliness. Today Muslim Ummah is in dire need of the men of steel, men of determination, men of resolve. The quest is for the manhood of the nation!!

Presenting here a beautiful write-up on the importance and the need for manhood within the Muslim Community.  Continue reading

O Mankind…!

Dear non-believers in Islam,

May God’s Peace and Blessings be upon you.

Most of you ‘believe’ that Qur’an is for Muslims alone. No way! Qur’an is for all.

Well, this is not your mistake. My community is responsible for this general misunderstanding among non-Muslims worldwide.

In this post, you will find a collection of verses from the glorious Qur’an addressing mankind. Before you proceed, I would like to briefly clarify two things.  Continue reading

Saviours of Islamic Spirit

This work of historical importance by the eminent Islamic scholar of the 20th Century (late) Sheikh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi has not become as popular as it should have been. Unfortunate also is the news that the publication of this significant work by the original publisher has been stopped!!

The series written in four volumes under the title Saviours of Islamic Spirit is of immense value to a student of Islamic history and civilization. Muslims, especially those of Asian origin, will find an oceanic depth of information about their past. Continue reading

From Gallery To Football Court!

The latest French magazine issue must be taken as an opportunity to learn and proceed with new energy. We need to move from being reactive to being proactive adopting positive approach for the cause of Islam.

Islam being the way of life produced, directed, chosen, approved, inspired and powered by Allah, none in the world has any potency to extinguish His Light. None!

The whole humanity with all resources put together cannot simply wipe out the religion of Islam. One can mock at the Prophet. One can slander Muslims and defame their religion. One can draw cartoons and prove his bankruptcy of civilized behavior. Stupid absurdities cannot harm even a hair of the Prophet, peace be upon him.

Barking dogs seldom bite. But then the need of the hour is to save the fabric of humanity from the possible bites left by some ferocious beasts.

The caring Prophet, and a community so unmoved!

Every Friday, for more than one thousand four hundred years, it has been the practice of thousands of Muslims the world over to recite the Surah al Kahf.

This Surah, like other suwar of the Qur’an, has in its fold an ocean depth of meanings that gives Muslims a purpose to live, a sense of direction.

Today I would like to highlight an important aspect about the personality of the glorious Prophet, Muhammad sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam, which this amazing Surah brings into limelight.

This aspect of our Prophet’s personality is often ignored by most of the Muslims in the world. Those who talk a lot about the fiqhi or jurisprudential  aspects of religious matters seldom get time even to ponder over this aspect of the Messenger of Allah.

Hardly we find Muslims in the world today observing this sunnah.

Even if we adopt one percent of what our Benefactor use to feel, we would be doing a great service to our own selves in our day to day life. And those who have dedicated their life – such fortunate ones are unfortunately less in the world – to care and share the treasure of Islam to humanity, are really worthy of being called true followers of Prophet Muhammad sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam. May Allah make us one among those fortunate few. Aameen.

Well, what is that thing that was in the person of the Prophet which is badly lacking in most of us?  Continue reading

Amr bil Maroof wa Nahi ‘anil Munkar

Amr bil Maroof wa Nahi ‘anil Munkar is an important aspect of Islam.

It is in fact the rai·son d’être of the Muslim Ummah.

Either you do it and give meaning to your existence, or you don’t care about it and get lost!

What, then, is this Amr bil Maroof wa Nahi ‘anil Munkar?

Farewell Address

Everyone, except the war-mongers, want peace to prevail in the society.

Presenting “The Prescription” for attaining Peace at all levels: Peace with oneself, Peace with one’s environment and Peace with one’s Creator.

In his Farewell Address of surgical precision, Prophet Muhammad – the Benefactor of Humanity, peace be upon him, laid down the International Charter of Human Rights while presenting Islam in a nutshell.

This Address provides guidance to the followers of Islam so that they can lead a righteous life on their sojourn at Planet Earth.

The content of this Farewell Speech also calls upon the people at the helm of affairs, including the men at the United Nations Organisation, to reflect upon and imbibe its teachings in the charter of human rights.

Imbibe and act upon. The world needs peace, enough of talking!!

The Qur’anic Art of Effective Communication

PS: A pdf of this post is given at the end.

Most of the time I feel that I am unable to follow the gloriously graceful guidance provided to me by my Creator when it comes to talking with people and communicating with others. It could be due to lack of patience and wisdom. It could be due to my foolhardiness or because of the boisterous nature. This happens to me especially when I get agitated or angry due to circumstances or situations. And later on you end up feeling regret for not following the Qur’anic guidance.

One lesson life has taught me is if you want to prevail over your own self and hence over the situation, change your approach by adopting the Qur’anic guidance on communication and dialogue. People will listen to you, and you will be able to make your point clear.  Continue reading

Being selfish….and being not!

Is there any reality or truth behind the statement uttered by many people that ‘whatever I do, I do for others’. ‘I live for others’. ‘I don’t need anything, I just want others to be happy’. ‘I am not selfish!’

How can you reconcile such statements with the Qur’anic verses which clearly emphasize and establish the fact that whatever you do, you do for your own self!  Continue reading

Istiqaamah is the key!

Giving brief answers to difficult questions is the hallmark of wisdom.

You might have heard people narrating their bitter experiences of they seeking some naseeha (advice) from such and such Imaam or an ‘Aalim, and having regretted later for seeking advice from such a boring person!

Some of us even stop going to the masjid should we encounter some lecturing ‘naseeha’ from an uninspiring Muslim.

The glorious Prophet Muhammad, sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam, is ‘uswatun hasana’‘the best role model’ for all Muslims.  Continue reading

Wa Ma Tawfeeqee il-laah bil-laah

Dear brothers and sisters, Assalamu Alaikum.

In today’s society, success seems to have many “fathers”. Failure is an orphan. Nobody wants to own it!

You might have heard people bragging: ‘Your success is because of me!’ ‘You got promoted because of my recommendation!’ ‘Without me, you’ll be nowhere!’ ‘Your accomplishment is due to my favour!’ ‘No, it’s not because of him, its only because of me, you achieved success!’!!

A true Muslim understands the hollowness of such a bragging!  Continue reading

Beware of ‘this dangerous da’wah’!

Today I would like to discuss about a ‘da’wah’ that is down-rightly destructive and out-rightly misleading!

A ‘da’wah’ that is destined for the purpose of ditching you and me!

A targeted approach leading people to the perpetual failure! A betrayal of sorts!  Continue reading

Psychological Human Behaviour Faced by a Caller to Islam

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Assalamu Alaikum. I found this article very interesting as it highlights the psychological human behaviour faced by the callers to Islam. The author, Sr. Sadaf Farooqi, discusses brilliantly in the light of the story of Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) and the cruel king Fir’aoun. Read on…..

When one goes through the Qur’an the first few times, one wonders why it has so much repetition of apparently the same incidents, e.g. the punishments meted out to transgressing past nations, stories from the lives of Prophets, and descriptive reminders of the torments and rewards of the Hereafter.

The Quran also seems to repeatedly “comfort” Prophet Muhammad [صلى الله عليه و سلم] by recounting to him the difficulties bygone prophets faced from antagonists. This is perhaps to make it easier for him to cope with the enmity he faced from people after he started calling them towards the monotheistic Deen of Islam.  Continue reading

Ramadhaan and Dawah

In Arabic, da`wah (inviting people to Islam) is one of the most emphatic and important duties of Muslims. It is one of the greatest forms of worship, by which Muslims can draw nearer to Allah.

The month of Ramadan is an ideal opportunity for engaging in this noble activity, especially with our fellow Muslims. People’s hearts in Ramadan are humbler because they are more aware of Allah’s remembrance, more responsive to exhortation and more inclined to repentance. Continue reading
