Yusra Vs ‘Usra

Yusr, Yusra or Yaseer means ease or relief and ‘Usr, ‘Usra or ‘Aseer means hardship or difficulty.

Both are part and parcel of human life.

Everybody wants to make his or her life free of hardship and difficulties.

Islam guides people as to what leads to ease and comfort and what brings misery, distress and difficulties.

At-Tibyan: Easy Way to Qur’anic Reading (PDF with AUDIO)

An excellent and innovative brain child of the pioneering author, Dr. V Abdur Rahim, At-Tibyan is very useful to those who want to learn the art of reading Qur’anic Arabic through some basic English speech sounds.

This book takes me down the memory lane when I was personally involved in the making of the CD version of this book even I edited the brochure and advertisement material.

The late Khateeb, Mufti and Qaari Janab Muhammad Qasim Bhopali (May Allah forgive him and grant him the highest place in Jannah) had taken keen interest in the recording of this book’s CD.

Dear Believers…!

I am intending to start a daily post on يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ‘Yaaa Ayyuhal Lazeena Aamanuu’, Inshaa’Allah

There are nearly 90 verses in the Qur’an which directly address the Believing Muslims and if we try to understand each verse daily and also put into practice Inshaa’Allah it will be a source of Ajr and Barakah, Inshaa’Allah.

As a prelude I thought it is important to discuss on the phrase itself.

What is the meaning of يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواContinue reading

Interview with Dr. V Abdur Rahim

This interview is one of my most cherished ones since the time I started writing.

Had the opportunity to interview this world-renowned-celebrity-scholar-genius way back in 1997 after he was conferred with the President’s Award in 1997.

Posted this interview when I started my first blog and since then this is the most viewed page, alhamdulillah

Wanted to export some of the posts which will be of benefit to the readers of this blog, Inshaa’Allah.

The scholar I love talks about some very important things in the field of teaching-learning Arabic as the language of the Qur’an.  Read the interview…..

The Dictionary of Qur’anic Usage

I have been using this Dictionary since many months, and it is very useful, alhamdulillah.

The content page was surprisingly not there in the original file I downloaded some years back. So I took the liberty to add the content page to help myself and for those wanting to use this dictionary for personal reference. If, however, any objection is raised from the parties concerned, and if it is brought to my knowledge, then I will remove this added page or even delete the file itself, Inshaa’Allah.  Continue reading

The Story of a Qur’anic word

What is the meaning of the word ‘kalalah’?

Understanding the Quran is important for anyone who wants to get closer to the text and put its teachings into application.

The Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave an excellent example in their keenness to learn the meaning of every verse and understand the meanings of the words that were new to them. But how would such words be new to the Companions, despite the fact that they were pure and genuine Arabs? Continue reading
