People of the Garden

Prophet of the Fish

For quite some time the boat was trembling and everybody believed it would sink.  All passengers seemed helpless.

In those days it was a belief among the voyagers that the boats would tremble in balance whenever a sinful person happened to be among the passengers. Sensing this someone said: “Assuredly, there is some sinful man in our boat.” Everyone thought of himself but no one could recall having done any sin. So they remained quiet. The story of Prophet Luut and his people

Prophet Luut, may Allaah exalt his mention, left Egypt, accompanied by his uncle Ibraaheem, may Allaah exalt his mention, and headed to the city of Sodom in Palestine, which was on the western shore of the Dead Sea.

This city was filled with evil. Its residents waylaid, robbed and killed travellers. Another common evil among them was that their men used to have sex with men instead of women. This unnatural act later became known as sodomy, after the city of Sodom. It was practiced openly and unashamedly. Continue reading
