      1. Mention the amazing du’aa of the Youth called Ashaabul Kahf with its understood meaning.
      رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
      Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.” (18:10)
      2. Which Qur’anic du’aa is popularly called as the Du’aa of the Angels for sincere believers in Islam?
      رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَّحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ
      رَبَّنَا وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدتَّهُمْ وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
      وَقِهِمُ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ وَمَن تَقِ السَّيِّئَاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
      “Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire.
      Our Lord, and admit them to gardens of perpetual residence which You have promised them and whoever was righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their offspring. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.” (40: 7-9) Read details here
      3. True servants call upon their Lord seeking His bounty to grant comfort to their eyes from among their wives and offspring. Which du’aa is that and where is it found mentioned in the Qur’an?
      رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
      “Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.” (25: 74) 4. Allah revealed two beautiful verses to His Last Messenger not on earth but on the occasion of Meraj and out of these verses one verse contains a moving du’aa. Which verse is that?
      رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ ۖ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ۚ أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
      “Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.” (2:286) Read Tafseer. 5. Which Surah contains the du’aa of a traveller?
      It is mentioned in Surah Al Zukhruf which is as follows:
      سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَـٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ ﴿١٣﴾
      وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ ﴿١٤﴾
      “Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.
      And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return.” (43:13-14)
      6. What was the du’aa said by Adam and his wife after they disobeyed Lord’s command and got tempted by Satan?
      قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ ﴿٢٣﴾
      “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.” (7: 23)
      7. Do you know which Qur’anic du’aa is to be made by children for their parents?
      رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
      “My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.” (17: 24) 8. Which du’aa Prophet Younus alaihis salam say when he was in the belly of a huge fish?
      لَّا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
      “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” (21: 87) Story here

      As a stranger in the land of Madyan, what amazing du’aa was made by Musa alaihis salam resting under the shade of a tree?
      رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
      “My Lord, I am truly in great need of any good that You might send down to me.” (28: 24) Details here
      Prophet Zakariyyah was inspired by Maryam’s spiritual dedication. Which du’aa he made to Allah desiring for an offspring even though he had been extremely old in age?
      قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَهَنَ الْعَظْمُ مِنِّي وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُن بِدُعَائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا ﴿٤﴾
      وَإِنِّي خِفْتُ الْمَوَالِيَ مِن وَرَائِي وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا ﴿٥﴾
      My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.
      And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir
      There is nothing wrong in seeking authority. Which du’aa says that Ibraheem alaihis salam sought authority and reputation of honour?
      رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ ﴿٨٣﴾
      وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ ﴿٨٤﴾
      “My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations.” (26: 83-84)
      Which statement did Prophet Ibraheem alaihis salam utter when he was thrown in the fire by the heartless hooligans upon an order from the cruel king Namrood?
      حَسْبُنَا اللَّـهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
      “Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.” (3: 173) Amazing description here and here
      After enjoying many years of prosperous living, Prophet Ayyoob alaihis salam was inflicted with a prolonged illness. Which du’aa he said after having reached the ebb of enduring patience?
      أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
      “Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.” (21: 83)
      Tell the du’aa taught by Allah to his Last Messenger for enhancing knowledge and wisdom?
      رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
      “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.” (20: 114) Details here
      Recall the du’aa of Prophets Dawood and Sulayman عليهما السلام expressing their gratitude for having been blessed with knowledge and exclusive blessings.
      الْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ الَّذِي فَضَّلَنَا عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ مِّنْ عِبَادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
      “Praise [is due] to Allah, who has favored us over many of His believing servants.” (27: 15)
      What is the du’aa of Zakariyya عليه السلام pleading Allah not to leave him childless?
      رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ
      My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors.” (21: 89)
      Phiroun’s wife was a believer in Islam. She made a beautiful plea seeking Allah’s help for ultimate success. Which du’aa was that?
      رَبِّ ابْنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِي مِن فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهِ وَنَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
      My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people.” (66: 11)
      Muslims are encouraged to say this du’aa very often – “Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.” Can you recall its Arabic wordings?
      رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ ﴿٨﴾
      “Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.” (3:8)
      We must not become objects of trial for the evil or wrongdoing people. Through which du’aa do we pour out our hearts seeking Allah’s help to save us from such kind of tests and trials?
      رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ﴿٥﴾
      Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”(60: 5) Detailed meaning
      One of the greatest attribute of Allah is that He is Al Musta’aan, the One Whose help is sought. In which du’aa do you find this Attribute mentioned in the Qur’an? (Note: There may be more than one ayah in which this Name of Allah is mentioned)
      رَبِّ احْكُم بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمَـٰنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ
      “My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe.”
