An Effort in Facilitation

Camel or Egg or not even worth an Egg?

We live in a busy world. If one can take time to do good things in an organised way, one would only be doing good to his own self.

This hadeeth of the Prophet ﷺ encourages us to compete and overtake others in amassing good deeds.

Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallahu anhu) narrates that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“When it is a Friday, the angels stand at the gate of the mosque and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the mosque in succession according to their arrivals. The example of the one who enters the mosque in the earliest hour is that of one offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow and then a ram and then a chicken and then an egg respectively. When the Imam comes out (for Jumu’ah prayer) they (i.e. angels) fold their papers and listen to the Khutba.” Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 2, Book 13, Hadeeth 51

Just imagine the status of those who come for Friday Prayer after the angels close the register: They are not even worth an egg!

May Allah guide us on the Right Path. Aameen.

Sal-lal-laahu-Ala Muhammad, Sal- lal-laahu-Alaihi-Wa-Sallam.
