Qur’an Quiz 3 with Answers to Quiz 2

Here are another set of questions. Try to answer, Inshaa’Allah.

1. Name the Surah which requires the reader to make two Sajdah Tilawah, prostration of recitation.

2. There are two verses in the Qur’an in which all the Arabic letters occur. Which verses are they?

3. Who were cousins among the Prophets?

4. Which Prophet took care of Maryam, the mother of Prophet Eesa?

5. Which Prophet gave the good news of the coming of the Last Prophet?

8. The disciples of Prophet Eesa are referred to in the Qur’an by what name?

9.  How many times the word ‘Allah’ is mentioned in the Qur’an?

Answers to Quiz 2

1. List the names of birds mentioned in the Qur’an.

Crow, Hoopoe, Swifts, Quail. (Generally the name ‘Bird’ is mentioned many times)

2. List the names of animals mentioned in the Qur’an.

Camel, Cow, Calf, Ram, Sheep, Goat, Horse, Mule, Donkey, Wolf, Elephant, Dog, Monkey, Snake, Pig, Frog, Fish (The word cattle is mentioned many times)

3. List the names of insects mentioned in the Qur’an.

Spider, Ant, Bee, Fly, Mosquito, Termites, Flea, and Locusts.

4. List the names of mosques mentioned in the Qur’an.

1. Masjid-ul-Haram 2. Masjid-ul-Aqsa 3. Masjid Quba. Also mentioned is the so-called Masjid-ud-Dirar constructed by hypocrites of Madinah for the purpose of causing trouble.

5. List the names of Prophets and Messengers mentioned in the Qur’an.

1. Adam 2. Idrees 3. Nooh 4.  Hood 5. Saleh 6. Luut  7. Ibraheem 8. Ismaeel 9. Ishaq 10. Yaqoob 11. Yousuf 12. Sho`aib 13. Ayyub 14. Mu’sa 15. Haroon 16. Dawood 17. Suleyman 18. Yunus 19. Ilyas 20. Al-Yasa 21.  Zul Kifl 22. Zakariyyah 23. Yahya 24. Eesa  and 25. Muhammad (May Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon them all)

6. List the names of fruits mentioned in the Qur’an.

Date, Grape, Pomegranate, Fig, Olive, Banana

7. List the names of vegetables mentioned in the Qur’an.

Grain, Garlic, Lentil, Onion, Mustard Seed, Gourd, Cucumber, (General name mentioned is Herbs and Vegetables) Buckthorn

8. Tell the names of the Prophets who were father-son duos.

1. Ibraheem whose both sons, Ismaeel and Ishaq, were Prophets. 2. Zakariyyah and Yahya 3. Dawood and Suleyman 4. Ishaq and Yaqoob 5. Yaqoob and Yusuf (Peace be upon them all)

9. Who were the Prophets who were related to each other in the form of father-in-law and son-in-law?

Prophet Shuayb and Prophet Musa (According to Ibn Kathir)

10. Tell the names of the Prophets who were blood brothers unto each other.

1. Ismaeel and Ishaq 2. Musa and Haroon.

    In Q.no.8…u hav not included Prophet Yaqoob (AS) & Prophet Yusuf (AS).

    The name of prophet Luqman is missing in q.no.5

    • wa alaikumus salam.
      The Qur’an is silent on this. So we cannot take it for granted that Luqman was a Prophet. There is no reference of he being a Prophet even in authentic ahadeeth. Wallahu Alam.

  3. Quiz #3 is way out my league I can only attempt 3 questions…

    6. Yusuf (as) was in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture
    7. He had 11 brothers
    10. Referred to as Children of Israel

    Also Q.2 on quiz two the Quran talks about the moths:
    ‘It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed…’ (101:4)

      Prophet Yusuf was Minister of Finance.
      Regarding Children of Israeel i will add some points when I am uploading all the answers to Quiz 3.
