Find Allah among them…!

While reading the glorious Qur’an, it is interesting to take a dive in the literary ocean to come out with some pearls of inimitable nature.

For example, the phrase ومنهم/ و منهم (and among them/among them) always attracts my attention. It is a simple construction but then it is the inimitable style that makes the Qur’an a miracle in human language.

It is amazing to reflect over as reflection is a part of ibaadah or worship and glorification of Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala.

I would like to present one such collection here. Hope you will enjoy reading as much as I enjoy.

1. Allah’s diversity in creation:

“Allah has created every [living] creature from water. And of them are those that move on their bellies, and of them are those that walk on two legs, and of them are those that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent” (Surah an-Noor 24: 45)

2. Allah punishes wicked/evil people by different ways:

So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves” (Surah Ankaboot 29: 40)

3. Different attitude/approaches of Allah’s slaves towards His Book:

“Then we caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants; and among them is he who wrongs himself, and among them is he who is moderate, and among them is he who is foremost in good deeds by permission of Allah. That [inheritance] is what is the great bounty” (Surah Faatir 35: 32)

4. From birth to death, different stages of man’s life:

Scene 1:

“Allah is the one who created you from weakness, then made after weakness strength, then made after strength weakness and white hair. He creates what He wills, and He is the Knowing, the Competent”. (Surah Ar-Room 30: 54)

Scene 2:

“O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed – that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.” (Surah al Hajj 22: 5)

5. When stone is better than the rebellious creature:

“Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stones or even harder. For indeed, there are stones from which rivers burst forth, and there are some of them that split open and water comes out, and there are some of them that fall down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.” (Surah al Baqarah 74)

6. Believers and unbelievers among mankind:

“And of them are those who believe in it, and of them are those who do not believe in it. And your Lord is most knowing of the corrupters” (Surah Yunus 10:40)

7. Believers and unbelievers among Jinn:

“And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim – those have sought out the right course”. (Surah al Jinn 72: 14)

8.  Allah gifts differently to different people:

“To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what he wills. He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males.

“Or He makes them [both] males and females, and He renders whom He wills barren. Indeed, He is Knowing and Competent”.  (Surah Ash-Shuraa 42:49, 50)

9. Allah’s amazing creation in different hues and colours:

“Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and [some] extremely black.” (Surah Faatir 35: 27)

10. Among the mighty creation, stands out the knowledgeable man:

“And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving. (Surah Faatir 35:28)

11. And, if anyone refuses to find His Creator among the above-mentioned signs, then the world can find such people among cattle!!

“And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.” (Surah Al ‘Araaf 7:179)
