Terrorism and Islam are poles apart!

There has been some really sad and bad things happening in the world in the past few weeks. The Earthquake first in Iran and then in China. The Boston bombing. And the recent report on the rape of a five-year old in the Indian capital. These happenings cause concern to every sane and sensitive person.

Character assassination of the global Muslim community is also a matter of deep concern.

As Muslims we do join with all civilized human beings in condemning the bombings wherever they happen: Be it Boston or Palestine. Whether perpetrated by individuals or state-sponsored terrorism!

We condemn terrorism in no uncertain terms.

The Qur’an tells us to raise our voice against all those committing such dastardly acts of inhuman brutality!

The Qur’an also teaches us that those who indulge in terrorism must be treated as criminals.

It is wrong and insensible to condemn, target and label the whole community for the wrong committed by the misguided few. It is crime against a particular community to tag them and attach a stigma for the problem.

The media, by and large, is notorious and nasty in its approach. The one who tweeted ‘Kill all Muslims’ must have said in anger or he must have lost his balance. But the media that reported such a statement coming from an individual did commit a bigger evil.

A terrorist is a maniac. He is sick minded. And he must be treated as such!

No one calls drone-strikings in Pakistan as Christian drones, right?

or do we attribute the Gujrat Carnage of 2002 to Hindu terrorism?

or the bombings and killings and rapes and torturing in Palestine by Israeli forces as Jewish terrorism?

The media must stop character assassinating Muslims. You cannot have double standards in your approach!

And if any writer/journalist uses the phrase ‘Islamic Terrorism’ it would either mean that he lacks manners and ethics of journalism or he deliberately wants to character assassinate the global Muslim community. No, he cannot be ignorant or innocent. For this phrase is being used by the notorious mainstream media since few decades!

What would you call a person who says ‘Hot Ice cream’?

Just as “Hot ice cream” is contradiction of fact, similarly “Islamic terrorism” is a contradiction!

Islam is peace. Terrorism is of terror. If you say ‘Islamic terrorism’, it would mean ‘Peaceful Terrorism’!!

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a Messenger of Peace and Mercy.

Islam teaches us that Human Life is sacred and precious and must be taken care of.

The Qur’an is a Book of Human Welfare:

مَن قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا

“….he who slays a soul unless it be (in punishment) for murder or for spreading mischief on earth shall be as if he had slain all mankind; and he who saves a life shall be as if he had given life to all mankind….” (Surah Al Maa’ida 5: 32)

Saving a human life is akin to saving humanity! This is a clear declaration of Islam!

The world leaders and the mainstream media must understand that terrorism has no links with the civilization of Islam. The religion that tells ‘Save life, save humanity’ cannot preach killings and bombings!

Islam not only stands for justice, it promotes Justice.

So whoever perpetrates the crime must be punished. Be he a Muslim or a Christian or a Jew or Hindu or a person of no religious denomination!

There should not be any kindness shown to people who indulge in bombings. There is no justification of such cowardly and dastardly acts.

No solution can be achieved through terrorism. It only increase problems. The world needs solutions, not problems!

Lead kindly light. Spread Love. Spread Peace.

Follow the Qur’an and Sunnah. Let peace prevail, everywhere.

May Allah guide us all unto the Right Path and make us a source for spreading peace in the world. Aameen.

Jazakallaahu Khayra for reading this post.

    • Dear Deepa,
Thank you for your comment which is full of concern.
I will answer your other two questions a little later (tomorrow insha allah) but for now, can i ask you one thing: Can science be science if you detach the contributions of Muslims? I feel you are more than 100 per cent ignorant on this issue. Please visit this link to start with:
      Thank you.
