An Effort in Facilitation

A reminder unto myself!

These three aayaats from the Glorious Qur’an are a reminder and an eye-opener for a person like me. May Allah forgive our sins and accept our sincere ibaadah. Aameen.

May He let us live as true Muslims and may He take our souls in the state of Imaan, doing ahsanul ‘aamaal. Aameen.

“How is it that you enjoin others to follow the Right Way, but forget it yourselves, though you read the Scriptures? Have you no sense at all?” (Surah al Baqarah 2: 44)

“O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do?” (Surah as-Saff 61: 2)

“It is most hateful in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do!” (Surah as-Saff 61: 3)

These words of Allah are so piercing that I feel I should stop teaching Islamic studies and close all my blogs!

As Allah says in Surah al Muzzammil,  “Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word”, the Qur’an lays a huge and heavy responsibility on our shoulders to follow its Guidance in our practical life.

The challenge, therefore, is to live by the Qur’an!

  1. True, every time I read or teach this verse to any one, I am scared too. May Allah (swt) forgive us!

  2. Your fear is valid and justified. Whereas a lot many have benefited from your blog.

There are 2 parts. As long as the content is educational, informative, analytical or explanatory then it is OK. But, when it includes action word like do (instruction) or command then care has to be taken to specify that this is NOT from “me” but from Allah and His Messenger’s teachings. And the real intention and our role is to establish a company of good Muslims and remind one another of Allah. Any good that has reached others or you is only from Allah (SWT).

May Allah (SWT) forgive our shortcomings and mistakes. Aameen!

    • Jazakallahu Khayra for sharing your thought, brother.
You are very true that whatever reaches us or others, is only from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’aala.
“Wa Tawfeeqi il-laah bil-laah” (My success can come only from Allah)
May Allah accept our sincere deeds, make our intentions pure and sincere, and bless us with His Rahmah, here and in the Hereafter. Aameen.
      Vassalam.
