An Effort in Facilitation

Let’s get inspired!

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

One of the many benefits of reading books on biography is that we tend to get inspired and motivated. I read this book about two years ago and re-read it today.

What a man Abdullah ibn al Mubarak was! May Allah be pleased with him.

After reading this wonderful work on the biography of this great servant of Allah, I just paused to do self-evaluation.

What is my knowledge of Deen and Sha’riah? What struggle am I undertaking in the cause of Allah? What is the level of our Islamic belief and practice? How is my daily ibaadah? Am I living or simply existing?

Sometimes we think that we know a  lot. That we read so many books! That having blog is a great service to humanity! That we do dawah when we write and post Islamic articles! ….so on and so forth!

If Abdullah ibn al Mubarak was akin to an ocean, we are – I am – far from the ocean – not even close to the shoreline!!

Let’s draw lessons from his life and contributions to bring about Allah-desiring-changes in our life. Not just to have an emotional attachment!!

May Allah guide us on the Straight Path. And May Allah give us the much-needed consistency in our daily Islamic activity. May we live as a true Muslim and may we die in true submission to Allah, the Lord Almighty. Aameen
