Reading the Qur’an in Transliteration form

Today I would like to discuss on this important topic.

The Qur’an is in Arabic and has to be read in Arabic.

It is not right to read the Qur’an in Transliteration form. It is like slaughtering a word here and a verse there!

Transliteration distorts the actual pronunciation and hence changes the meanings!

This happens even if somone reads the script with utmost care adopting all methods of phonetics and linguistic techniques.

With due respect to brothers and sisters, it is a fact that those who take the help of transliteration become stagnant and do not even consider to change their approach. They get ‘satisfied’! ‘ Yeah, I can manage reading with the help of transliteration, what if I don’t know Arabic!’  This feeling doesn’t allow them to take efforts to learn Arabic!

Throughout their life, some Muslims have been ‘living under the excuse’ of Arabic being a ‘foreign’ language!

Is English not foreign?  How did you learn English?

Chickens, as they are hatched out of the egg shells, start conversing with their mom in their language! They don’t learn!

Humans are not chickens!

Those who don’t know Arabic have to learn Arabic. A Muslim has to learn Arabic! At least know how to read Arabic.

A Muslim has to read the Qur’an in Arabic!

Next, he must try to understand the Qur’an in Arabic.

You cannot learn swimming by standing at the pool. You have to take a dive!

Take a dive and find oysters!

Take more dives, you will find pearls InshaAllah!
