Shari’ah: No water, no life!
Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem
Shariah is to Islamic life as water is to human existence. In fact, Shariah is a path that leads to a water hole. Water, the very source of life.
About Shariah, I found these two presentations by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, of Islamic Circle of North America, to be very informative and wanted to share it with you all. Read more »

Islam is Peace!
Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem
All praise, thanks and glory be to Allah and Allah alone. Alhamdulillah, the Dubai International Peace Convention was an amazing event. May Allah bless the Organisers, the Dubai Government and the Al Manar Centre, with His choicest Blessings, both in this world and in the Hereafter. Aameen. May Allah reward the speakers, the voluneers, those who did hard work for the Science Model Exhibition/Peace Exhibition, and all those who contributed, directly or indirectly, towards the success of this mega Islamic event in Dubai. Aameen.
I plan to scan some of the pages, InshaaAllah, from the souvenir for the purpose of education and dawah. I like this one

Assalamu Alaikum.
As a blogger, this is one of my favourite websites. This website is useful in downloading png images of the Qur’anic verses. Simply type the ayah number and you get the file! HOW MANY COMPANIONS DO YOU KNOW?
A respectful sister named Mona once told me that during a scholarly session with a Muslim preacher, the attendees were asked, “Do you know the names of the members of the Brazilian football national team?” To the questioner’s surprise, they managed to recall the names of all the players not escaping even one of the reserves! Arabic cannot be a foreign language!
Dear sisters and brothers, Assalamu Alaikum.
At the outset, I thank two sisters – Sr. Aisha and Sr. Naseem Ejaz – and two brothers – Br. Muhammad Munawar and Br Mofiz Ahmad – for responding to my request through the previous post: Is Arabic a foreign language?
Sr. Aisha quotes Ayah 3 of Surah Zukhruf and says that Arabic is not a foreign language!
“We verily, have made it a Qur’an in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions).” (43: 3)
Br. Munawar’s answer is interesting. He says both yes and no. Read more »

Musa’s mother threw her infant son in the river. Did he die?
Yusuf’s jealous and scheming brothers threw him in a well. Was that the end of Yusuf? Read more »
On the occasion of Islamic New Year….

Is it right to say ‘Happy New Year’ or not!
Smart Muslims cite fatwas arguing it is not allowed to say Happy New Year. Fine, accepted. Read more »
Qur’an: The Living Truth
Assalamu Alaikum.
An appreciative effort to convey the meanings of the glorious Qur’an in English was made in 2003 by Dr. Basheer Ahmad Mohyidin Some months ago, I got a hard copy from one of my colleagues at workplace. It is published by Manas Foundation and has the approval of the Government of Dubai’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Department.
I found the interpretation of the Qur’an to be very good. Read more »
